i know theres plenty of people from notts on here so im looking for a bit of advice really. im looking to get something like this done 2moro or friday. im trying to get a price for something like that in my head and to see where people reccommend to go for it
Before you commit to getting a tribal tattoo, think about this. Tribal design is a fad, do you really want this or just think it looks cool? Have you put alot of thought behind it or is this a sudden impulse? If you have thought about it, have you thought over different designs or just immediately picked one? Will you be happy with it next year? How about five years down the road or ten? Don't look for the cheapest tattooist. Look for a studio that does lots of quality work. Such a large design done in black will be hard to cover up down the road if you decide to do so. Does the shape of the tattoo go well with the shape of your body that you're looking to place it on? While some people enjoy just randomm tattooings, you have to remember that it's fairly permanent. To get it covered up or removed will cost you even more then getting it done in the first place. As for your question, not quite sure about your area or country at all. Your best bet would to be to visit several studios and look at their books of people they have done. Hell, just sit in there and ask to see one as it's getting finished. If this is your first tattoo, when you go to get it done, ask your artist to rake the needle across your skin before he applies ink to ink. This will give you a good idea how it's going to feel. At first it'll hurt a slight bit and then the area will go numb, but if you're there for several hours for one session, the numbness goes away into quite a bit of pain. Some people can take it, some can't and need to come back at a later date and get it finished. Good luck with your choices either way and be sure to post pictures.
hi bloodcar, cheers for the info/advice mate, good points there indeed. ive thought about it for a while now, almost 2 years, not on the same design but in the area im thinking of getting this done, top of the arm. not quite as high as in that pic though. it will be my 2nd tattoo also, ive got a much smaller one on my other arm, but this is going to be huge in comparison. im not too worried about the design being a fad or anything as its pretty generic i feel, its not as bad as say a skull and cross bones or anything like that really. i dont plan on showing it off anyways, and it wont go lower than my elbow so its unlikely to be a problem to cover under a shirt or anything.
