The theme patcher program will do the main ones for you. Shell32.dll lives in C:\windows\system32 Explorer.exe is in Windows' root folder (c:\windows) Explorerframe.dll also lives in System32
Can I also ask how you got Winamp looking like that. I've been trying to get it vertical like that, but can't seem to do it. I seem to remember that you used to be able to split winamp up into indivual sections IIRC, but can't find anything like that in options.
Download Classic Pro 1.4 for winamp... then look for a skin called cpro_bento. It just looks like that... I didn't have to change anything. I created the Streamripper skin to match it myself.
Thanks. can't seem to find it though, Got another one though that's just about the same. Still unsure whether I'll stick with winamp.
Classic Pro 1.14 updated version of my skin Sorry for hijacking the thread people..... back OT now please. Please PM me if you have any more Qs.. ta
I have one GIANT gripe with Win7. The bloody auto sort is p*****g me off to no end. Whoever thought it would be a clever idea to enforce sorting files in Explorer whenever you're manipulating files in some way (copying, moving, deleting, extracting etc.)? And apparently NOT being able to switch it off even with some obscure registry setting. Other than that I pretty much like Win7.
It's not exactly stand out brilliant, a few nice touches here and there. But currently I'm typing in 7 safe mode because its decided it no longer likes the Nvidia drivers for my GPUs. So I'm currently downloading the most recent. I've no idea which to blame, so I won't - however its f*****g annoying.
When searching around for laptops for rellies, they've all had W7. Having used Vista for maybe 6 months out of the past two years, the interface remained familiar so I had no problems with it. However, now that new Windows and old Office are the same price, I'm still buying Office 2007 before W7, as that matters more on my CV than which Windows I'm using. It'll get bought, or if I get a laptop as well it'll also have it anyway. Maybe whenever I do make the move I'll discover something under the hood I don't like, but it hasn't happened yet.
It's excellent for me, but my dad has had no end of trouble with it. His New Folder option continually disappears, with the only way to make a new folder is to CMD + mkdir . The fix is a registry entry, but it resets itself every few days, and he (nor I) have any idea why. I feel sorry for the fellow
Only problem I've had with win 7 is nightly bsod's caused by realteks dodgy ethernet drivers, I've sorted it out though I've restricted utorrent's max download speed when I leave it running overnight.
I loves windows 7 lol. Its actually the first OS i've every bought (seperate to a pc) still £39 student deal is reasonable
Pretty great, runs smoothly. Although, when running itunes, whenever i right-click on the desktop, i get "Windows Explorer is not responding" then closes, but other than that, good.
I absolutely love it! The only problems I've had was because of defective harddrive, but I cant blame MS for that. It has been a lot less hassle to get to run perfectly than snow leopard on my macbook! Its stable, snappy and generally very nice!
Just out of interest Sheiken, what troubles have you had with your macbook, since i've had one for a while and have only had one issue with a print driver and i may be able to help.
I just had some issues with my time machine backups going from leopard to SL, and the system would beachball all the time, and slow down ALOT. So i did a clean install erased the old drive with zeroes, and just moved my old data over manually. Now it runs like a champ!
I like it so far. I had some permissions problems after WMP automatically ripped some files to my default My Music on the C: I then tried to move them to the media portion of my hard drive D: and it said I didn't have permission. Strange considering I am the administrator and there is only 1 account on the PC, mine. Also I don't seem to be able to get it to display recently opened items in my start menu despite toggling it on in the options. I have to use Vista at work and Win 7 seems so much more polished.
