Amazing work! The exposed radiator on the front looks sharp! Great worklog photos btw, I feel like I'm there.

13th Update [16th Feb 2010] Front bezel polishing & motherboard tray modification

Okay, it's time to end this 'childbirth' (or equivalent word when something cost a lot to do).. end the front frame / bezel / aluminum piece, and start to work with other things.

I bought this tools for polishing and to protect me...

...and completes my current set of polishing tools.

I made some sand and polishing test prior to make definitive work.

Mmmm I do not like it, I see some scratches, and the polishing compounds doesn't remove it.

    I decided to apply wet-sanding (320 -> 500 -> 1000).

After sanding inner and outer sides, this is ready to apply polish.

    Isn't finished...

needs to polish inner curves with another tool.

    A lot of waste!

Now I apply polish compound manually.

Do not worry, it's easy to clean :hehe:

It's turn to apply the final polishing.

I decided to remove one plastic separator to fit all better.

And now fits well! but I suspect that It need more modifications in the future, because I assembled all parts without rivets...

    14th Update [2nd Mar 2010] Radiator stands

Well, at last I finished the radiator part, by now. It's usable and it holds by itself. To achieve this I made four alluminium pieces. This pieces goes screwed into the case laterals and bottom to avoid see the screws in front.
    Just check the pics:

Just brilliant! My only question is about the seam between the two 'ends' of the polished surround - I assumed you were going to weld it up, and then grind it flat and polish. Are you going to hide it instead?

It is cool to read and see how to bend thick aluminium. I like your project log and your case design. You make your work very good.

    15th Update [12nd Mar 2010] Modularizing a PSU

Wires, a lot, too many... this time I decided to mod my actual PSU to fix the wiring issues. I used a modular connectors from a died antec unit. Also main motherboard wires has been sleeved.
This PSU probably isn't the most adequate for this hardware, is an old design (more than 6 years), and not too efficient compared to modern PSU. It has only two +12v rails at 20A, I think isn't enough for a overclocked phenom 955 + a GPU. But.. for now it's the only that I have! I'll be happy if someone decides to sponsor this component :D
