Some peeps like to be pedantic, they will never let something slide if they have the chance to point out a slight inaccuracy in a statement; the irony is some scholars suggest that the festival of Yule falls between mid-November and early January, so for the log to be past it's best by 22nd December is indeed rather demotivating & thus renders Yorkie's point to be invalid, along with specofdust's too :D

On the upside, the government is scrapping best before dates soon as they are redundant and lead to un-neccessary foods waste. Take that Yule log for example- damn thing is made of 99% sugar so in reality it will last for weeks & weeks past it's Best before date. Meat, fish & dairy products are what you need to be careful with ( even veg will last several days or a week after it is meant to be thrown away )...

Like Mankz did, because he was fed up with a few members trying to ruin the place by posting comments & having little jibes at other members every chance they got? Maybe a better idea would be for people to think twice before having a dig at another member because it only causes bad feelings. Telling people they are wrong when they aren't ( necessarily ), and suggesting they leave when they are vocal about being fed up with the snipes and digs all the time is really low- this is why so many threads get locked as they descend into petty tit-for-tat exchanges when really, some guys should just STFU instead of pointing out tiny errors or flaws in someone's post :)

    Anyway, more lolz:

Sorry off topic for one post only.

Yemerich, where to you buy your PC components. Kabum is super expensive and fnac is crap.

Really need some help on this if possible as it's expensive to ship from the US due to taxes and putting things, like cases, in my luggage when in the UK worries me.

    Thanks.

To add to this a "Jule Log" (danish) is originally just a special piece of wood you burn at "jul" and the Scandinavian "jul" or Yul usually lasted for at least one week meaning that there is not one day for it to fall.

And the "Jule log" is a heathen tradition and has as such originally nothing to do with christmas. But so many other "christian" traditions are pagan anyway.

But still why would they ever produce anything meant for the holidays that get a date before the point when they are meant to be used ?
I do like that one simply because it points out one thing wrong with the society today, we are wasteful and consumerism has driven us to an extreme in consumption.

That or it's nearly Christmas and we like eating chocolate cake, whatever shape it's in. If you were organising a kids Christmas party and didn't have time to faff around making yule logs, you might want to go and buy one - there's your market/justification.
