Possibly taken out of context a bit. The way I read it, she is not against the women's vote; she just laments its necessity because men are failing in their gender role to look after women.

Although I do not subscribe to the view that women are simpering little infantile flowers who need to be looked after by big daddy men, I would agree that men generally are failing in their role as gentlemen, and family provider.

Gentlemen, yes.. provider? Who exactly made up this rule anyway? If you want a family, the one who earns the most cash goes out to work. Simple. Any other attitude is just stupid.

 

Totally agree, but in practice that is not what always happens. Often we see the wife working and running the household, and husband doing... well, nothing. And how many single dad families do you see? It's still more common for a man to abandon wide and kids than for a woman to abandon husband and kids.
