Pretty much. You failed the motherland. How can we say we are superior race with superior methods if there's someone better than you? All the government money put into you was wasted. I've often found people are thought of as commodities.

The official Chinese media labelled one of their 3rd place people a 'failure' until it was forced to apologise due to an online backlash. People in China might see it as a great achievement and be proud, but their government, less so.

I actually briefly considered gutting one of the dead IDE drives laying around the house to make an enclosure for my SSD. Instead, I overengineered a ghetto bracket - think 4 bits of acrylic, 4 alu angle bits, and 12 screws. It wasn't until I'd fitted it into the HDD cage that it occurred I could have done the same with one piece of acrylic and two pieces of alu angle. I should have gotten a pic of that with the SSD mounted - that beautiful SSD mounted on such a hack-job bracket would have demotivated you all for the rest of the day, at least.
