    Honorary promotion to make him a public figure. You would expect a ship's captain to at least have gotten there with some training (coming up through the ranks) or else he would never be able to captain a ship. Cap'n Jack > Captain United States.

    I'm sick of the United States claiming the name that belongs to 2 continents. Canadians are Americans. Mexican's are Americans. Greenlanders are Americans. Brazilians are Americans. United Statesians are Americans. I refuse to refer to the United States as simply "America" anymore. I'm giving it back to the people of both continents. People of America, if you want a better name than United Statesians (United Stasians?), choose one for yourself and let us all know. You can't refer to Americans unless you are including all North and South America.

    ALSO...

    The United States isn't the best place in the world. Obama isn't the "Leader of the Free World" (he was only elected by 1 country). The rest of the world does not need to have it's trade/IP laws and culture dictated by 1 country. The arrogance!

    now, your'e a foreigner so i'll cut you some slack. but you seem to be having a difficult time pronouncing the word "'murica", as in "i'm from 'murica" or, "he is 'murican". its a common mistake outside of 'murica so don't be too hard on yourself. here's an eagle to comfort you:
