Only pubs where I live, no night clubs- don't like the idea of either any more ( played the 'follow my 'friends' around a few pubs and still feel like I don't belong or enjoy being here' game ), just not my scene and prices are stupid. You will certainly not find a high class of female/male in a smelly, overcrowded club- nice girls find higher class establishments to frequent in groups with their other girly friends, not huddled in some noisy shite-hole full of chavs throwing up everywhere...

This is a good point and I'm kinda surprised I never thought of it. Maybe it's because clubs are so far off my radar, I pay them no mind.

Now the Golf club - there's a place to meet the right sort of ladies. If I can manage it, I love Wednesday afternoon teeoffs. For some reason there's a crapload of women playing, and you always catch up to a slow-playing bunch of them by the third or fourth hole and then the rest of the round is a whole lot of fun. And you usually leave with a number or two. :D

Can't stand tacky clubs, prefer pubs and bars, only clubs I frequent are rock clubs because they tend to have nice people (and good music!) rather than 18 yo twats trying to pick up skanks.

It all depends. I've been to some amazing clubs around Sloan square that are not full of chavs throwing up. Especially at £300 a bottle of vodka (which is how you buy your drinks there). Good dj, classy people, doesn't charge for entry or cloakroom but you have to book a booth with a minimum order.

That said I'm a fancy bar/gastro pub kind of guy. Love a good glass of quality cider or a mojito. Had a really good time at browns on Saturday, dinner then drinks: perfect.

Regardless of my age (31 if anyone cares), I rarely set foot in any kind of drinking establishment these days due to being the daddy.

Spent many hours in clubs as a late teenager, but it's overrated unless you are hell-bent on a) tinnitus, b) B.O. and c) venereal disease.

Never really liked clubs until I moved to Berlin for half a year... after that I was sorely disappointed again by pretty much every club but also unfazed by things that most people found hilarious and/or scary.

Toilets that 6 guys come out of, the other that takes too long and eventually spits out a couple or even people having sex on the dancefloor were common sights there. (Of course, depending on the club)

But it was all good because there was such a strict door policy that the people who did get in were really chill about it and I never, never saw anyone fighting.
The only remotely threatening thing I saw was a bunch or French twats who were visiting and were annoying my female friends. One of them wanted to fight... until his friends pulled him away as I was almost two heads taller than he was. XD

    (Obligatory Berlin atmosphere song)

I used to go to the (very) occasional club years back when we had something like a works night out and they were really never my thing, sure there were 'interesting' characters in there but I could never hear anything other than the 'music' and the beer on tap was always just John Smiths or lager.

I think I only ever really enjoyed myself once (damn, she was good fun) although that was a lot more fun after leaving but hey...

If and when I do go out now, I try and aim for the rock and goth places (or even the odd gay bar) as I have never felt out of place or unwelcome there (in fact the gay bars have been the most accepting places I have ever been in despite me being quite happily straight).

I have not really been out anywhere in years though as my wife's health somewhat precludes that type of night out, somewhere quieter and shorter time is a lot easier.

I've had similar experiences; you've never seen a person move so fast when a spider unexpectedly walks across their pillow/ the wall by their head...

Was just jesting, gave up on nightclubs in my mid twenties - would rather go out for a few drinks and a good blether with friends somewhere we can hear each other.

This is so true, often go to a gay bar locally (they have good karaoke!) with my best mate, lot of fun and people are so nice in there! Although do get mistaken as a couple sometimes, which is always funny :D

I've been in exactly one club, never gone again. I do not care if I did see Puff Daddy and Jay-Z, I hated the atmosphere and I don't drink. Besides, I have a wife and no wish to go skank hunting.

I always thought it was the people you're with at the time was more important than the place you are in but that's just me.

Although, I would like to be in that Swedish club :p
