You obviously need a new boot, bumper rear left wing. That's going to cost you artless £1,000,000

Oh come on - replacement rear light cluster, replacement rear bumper - and possibly the stuff designed to crumple underneath it, respray - and a days labour - easily over £1000

Obviously you gotta replace the 4 bits you can see there, then the tire, axle and brakes (because they might'a got shock up a bit), the closest door (incase it got a little shifted) the drivers door (who knows what kind of damage you did getting out to check the damage?) the clutch, gearbox and engine (clearly you pushed against something and that's bound to have done irreversible damage), and then thers the shock of seeing such a classic automobile damaged, the inspector will be scared for life, and thats even more money.

Seriously, take it to a body shop and tell them you're paying for it yourself, will prob be 3/4 the price, you could then have the insurers pay you back. They'll be happy as long as its cheaper, but it might be worth it with premium increases and excess just to pay for it yourself.

The problem is that rear panel. You cant just unbolt rear quarter panels. If you repair that rear panel properly £1000 is about spot on(maybe even a bit cheap) as it require welding work/panel beating then a respray, insurance companies always base it on the doing the job properly not just a bit of bondo.

Personally I would do as you suggest, but back then head over to scrappers and replace the bits myself and just leave the dint alone expect a bit of paint to stop any rusting. If feeling adventures sand down and bondo.

Well I'm the 3rd party here and the council admitted fault straight away so this isn't going anywhere near my insurance.

All the garage are going to so is replace the cluster, the bumper insert, lead fill the wing dent and sand and spray the area.

On just stunned that Zurich don't care they are blatantly getting ****es in the ass and it's effecting premiums for us.

I'd probably leave it myself, but my car is fifteen years older and already looks like that on all four corners, except for a bit of red oxide paint to cover up any bare metal. It's amazing how annoyed people will get that I don't care about the appearance of my own car :)

this reminds me of my IT teacher who told me to STOP CHEATING in lesson as i was using shortcuts to copy and paste information ( as well as ALT + Tab ) then gave me detention for disrupting the class for trying to explain to him that the CPU cooler IS NOT THE PROCESSOR the processor is located under it, but as he explained to the class his textbook had the arrow pointing to the cooler and not the processor

I wasn't popular with my IT teachers for this too... that and I'd gone through the entire term's worth of 'activities' [mainly excel ****...] in the time it took him to explain the first one to the first class...
