I'm 5'10" and in the Netherlands that is considered short.

Yup, my wife's Dutch and she's taller than I am, she's a fraction over 6' although her mum is only about 5' 6"

Chairs. All goddamn chairs do not work at all when you are over 6 foot 2.

If it was just the ISPs that were meant to pay, then they might have wanted to make that clear from the outset, though yeah, ISPs will likely pass that charge along I imagine. Viva la revolution!

as someone else said '700 forint cap, payable by ISP' = '800 forint increase in line rental, payable by customer' [or whatever]...

I think the biggest problem tall people have is having to constantly tell everyone how tall they are. It's the first thing they mention, like they achieved it through hard work or something.

Chairs are okay. It's tables that are the bane of tall people.
Bumping my knees into sharp objects on the underside or lifting the table because I was shifting my feet around. Then again, I am 6 foot 2 (192cm) and in The Netherlands that's quite alright.
My dad is actually taller (195 cm) but my legs are longer. So he can't ride my bike for example. :p

I know a couple of women my size and if you are under 175 cm you are actually shorter than most young girls.

I'm half Dutch and I'm 175cm. So don't feel too hard done by.

Door frame, mother effing door frames.

At six two you are probably fine, but even in modern buildings I regularly shave a small chunk off the top of my skull and end up prone on the floor cursing and swearing.

AND SHORT PEOPLE WONDER OUT LOUD WHY I REFLEXIVELY DUCK UNDER DOORS ALL THE TIME.

Also, fitting into chairs, steps not being deep enough my feet to adequately fit on, tripping people walking past any table I sit at, airline flights, cars with seats that don't go low and back far enough, needing to buy custom built bicycle frames, special order shoes...

    **** short people.

at 6ft5 lamp shades are another obstacle particularly if you step backwards I always seem to catch them. My latest challenge is trying to find a new car anything I actually want is destroyed the moment I try to get into it.

I never mentioned I'm 1/4 Dutch- my Grand mother was a bit naughty when she was young(er) and had an affair with a guy working on a ferry liner, got pregnant and produced my Mum. The guy she boned ( while married, naughty naughty ) lived in St. Helena, and his family was originally from the Netherlands. So I might actually be 1/8 Dutch, close enough- I don't ask about family history too much as that side of things is still a bit of a sore point ( Gran got divorced and remarried years later, to a different person entirely... ).

The advantage of being tall however:

Nourishment plays a big part in length as well, most children that were adopted from traditionally short countries like Chile or China are a lot taller when growing up in The Netherlands.
The traditional English or Continental breakfast probably does not help either.

Go read the comments on this site if you want to read more about the wonders and downsides of being tall. ;)
How tall are you? Dutch modern buildings have to be at least 2315 mm or 2015 mm when renovated.

I have a size 65 bike frame, the largest available size from the factory. But only on some models.
But that look on the car salesman's face though. XD
