I could read taldega's demotes all day - ****ing melvin!

What I couldn't read all day is snobbery about knowing what ****ing city is in what ****ing country. It's like laughing at the kid that can't spell their own name or keeps putting their jumper on back to front. So she doesn't give a **** about the names of places. And?

 

Its not so much about the lack of general knowledge. Its more about the arrogance and thinking they know everything.
If i was asked any of those questions and i didn't know the answer, i would not guess or assume. I'd say i don't know.

I can say with a great deal of certainty that I know the location of & answer to ~90% of the questions asked in that video, but I would simply say I don't know to the other 10%. In a country or countries where children are taught that evolution is a theory and creationism is a fact ( more or less ) is it little wonder a large proportion of children grow up not knowing the difference between their ass & elbow?

It would be snobbery to laugh at people who don't know the answer to questions that a college or university educated person would have learnt, but to not know the difference between Australia & N.Korea, or how many sides a triangle has... no, that is not snobbery to laugh at fools so backwards in their knowledge of basic maths & geography, not at all; especially when said people come from the richest ( sort of ) country on earth.

Now, if we were making fun of some African villagers or Indian children living in a slum...

I was only commenting on the vid where the blonde didn't know where Budapest was, didn't see the other one, so my apologies. But I still think there's an element of snobbery, which is at the more innocent end of the scale. There are people all over the world with different backgrounds, capabilities and personal priorities, and if you've ever worked in a school in the UK you'll quite possibly have witnessed things that help you understand (sorry, don't mean to sound patronising) how people get to become adults and not retain some stuff that others do. Don't get me wrong though, this ain't a big issue and I'll happily raw with laughter at the pub quiz when someone says something daft, but it's pretty mean to dwell on such issues.
