    Origin Update

    Steam can update and be on my library in 90seconds on a bad day, why does Origin need multiple restarts and and a complete re-install every other flaming update? Why do you crash mid update? Why do you lose vital registry files after the update?!

    I just wanted to play some BF3 at 9pm, it's gone midnight now and you're still not operational you colossal pile of crap!

    large Demote form someone who feels they need to play the race card

    Backstory:
    she got onto an American Airlines flight and sat opposite to an Emergency exit seat. The couple in the Emergency Exit seats, could not understand English ( reports vary but the main source says it was an Asian couple on holiday ) and thus the cabin crew could not communicate to them what they would be expected to do in an emergency. The couple were then asked to move. the woman ( imanicezanne, connected to the 'black lives matter' movement ) then got out of her seat to protest that the Asian couple were being moved against their will ( for safety reasons ). the woman was then heard shouting at the stewardess who after 5 mins of abuse and accusations of racism, had her escorted off the plane by two ''armed caucasian male officers'' ( oh the humanity ) and stranded at the airport. Apparently in fear she then launched into a barrage on twitter with posts such as ''Who knows a lawyer? Specifically one that is well versed in racism/discrimination. American Airlines bout to cash this Black girl out.''

    i am truly demote

    i have been on a plane, sitting opposite an emergency exit row, where a pretty beefy Brazilian chap with a broken arm was moved away from the emergency exit, the only difference was because he could speak English, he understood why he was moved and agreed with the decision.

    You know you're reading a high quality news source when they claim a woman was ejected from an American Airlines flight.

    Now I know the whole BLM thing tends to bring out - ahem - strong emotions on the internet and assumptions about people on both sides, but the way I read it, the content of your source link does not really match what you wrote as "backstory". All it contains is a series of tweets, some of which seem to directly contradict what you're saying.
    Maybe you also read an article with the account of another passenger who gave another side to the story and you forgot to include it?

    Specifically:
    Here she literally says she understood why they had to move:
    [IMG]
    and apparently she remained in her seat the whole time and didn't raise her voice.

    The only thing the provided source has on this is
    [IMG]
    which doesn't really sound like 5 minutes of abuse to me.

    Is there another source? A quick google search only turns up (references to) this woman's twitter feed, which is of course only one side of the story.

    That console vs PC article.

    I would give the author a couple points though, like 8, 9, 10 which can be argued to an extent.

    But every other point is so bad they worth -1000 points each....

    i did read a fairly long winded post about the incident before even finding her twitter feed, unfortunately that now reads 404 so it may have been removed for being inaccurate or American Airlines may have shut the page down while they conduct their own investigation

    however i can say ( due to having a friend in the industry who first told me about the post ) that removal of a passenger from an aircraft is a LOT of paperwork ( he doesnt work for AA, but i assume the paperwork is much the same... ) and is considered a ''last resort'' to people who are trained to be diplomatic. it is also usually left up to the pilot. While nobody else who was there has stepped up in her defence ( or the airlines defence for that matter ) someone who is trained to be diplomatic wouldnt feel threatened by someone who is seated and quiet and would certainly not ask for said passenger to be removed from the aircraft.

    she says she understood why the couple were moved, then voiced her concerns to the passenger sitting next to her, if she understood...what concerns would she have ?

    when the FA asked her if she was going to be a problem, it may of been rude of the FA but still the situation could easily been avoided if she said something like 'there isnt a problem/ i understand why the passengers were moved''

    instead she responds with
    ''Are you going to be a problem'' ?
    being a smartarse gets you nowhere in life, and even if the abuse didnt occur. she wasnt booted off for racism as she claims, more for being disruptive on the plane, at a time when dozens of safety checks are being performed and the cabin crew need their heads screwed on.

    also AA stands with most other Airlines in that if you get kicked off a flight for YOUR actions ( being drunk or DISORDERLY for instance ) then the airline takes no responsibility for getting you to your destination ( same thing if your late )

    unfortunately with so few sources that we can legally read ( the paperwork from the airline is confidential and likely to remain so ) we get one side of a fairly complicated story.

    Either way, back to funnies

    Rather relevant since ive been playing ALOT of AOEII recently

    Also been playing some GTA: San Andreas and finally got to the plane missions and FUUUUUUU the controls on the PC are god aweful

    Yes, that part confuses me a bit too. She also never says what exactly her concerns were.

    Ah, I interpreted that as:
    "'Are you going to be a problem?', why would you ask me that?"
    (probably because I'm not a native speaker) instead of:
    "Are you going to be a problem? Why would you ask me that?"
    Which is indeed more aggressive than necessary - though TBH I too would be irritated by a FA asking me if "I'm going to be a problem". A bit unprofessional IMO.
    In any case, kicking someone off a plane for one smartarse comment still seems a bit of an overreaction to me.

    So either A. She wasn't as calm and civil as she claims she was, was rightfully booted off, and in frustration wrote a very skewed version of events.
    or B. A racist FA perceived her as far more threatening than she actually was because she acted somewhat aggressively and was black (and somewhat big).

    Normally I'd instantly pick option A here, but race relations in the US are a very complicated issue and she most certainly wouldn't be the first black person to be wrongly perceived as "threatening" (Don't want to open yet another can of worms here in this thread though :worried:) so I'm hesitant to judge.
    I hope another passenger's account comes out in the future so we can know what actually happened here.

    Probably my favourite comment of the lot...

    "Why am I allowed... by Yangin-Atep
    ...to review a game I don't own?
    GOG should change the way user reviews work so that people who don't own the game can't review it."

    Would that be that you can't review it if you didn't buy it from GoG? I have lots of games that GoG sell but I didn't buy them from GoG, does that mean I can't review them?

    I think I'll give it a try.

    I read the opposite - you can make a review of any game regardless of whether you own it or not - as long as you have a registered GOG account.

    Time for a little culture.

    A poem, author unknown.

    Fifty Shades of Grey - A husbands view

    The missus bought a Paperback
    ...down Shepton, Saturday,
    I had a look inside her bag;
    ....T'was "fifty shades of grey".

    Well I just left her to it,
    And at ten I went to bed.
    An hour later she appeared;
    The sight filled me with dread…..

    In her left she held a rope;
    And in her right a long black whip!
    She threw them down upon the floor,
    And then began to strip.

    Well fifty years or so ago;
    I might have had a peek;
    But Mabel hasn't weathered well;
    She's eighty four next week!!

    Watching Mabel bump and grind;
    Could not have been much grimmer.
    And things then went from bad to worse;
    She toppled off her Zimmer!

    She struggled back upon her feet;
    A couple minutes later;
    She put her teeth back in and said
    .....I am the dominater !!

    Now if you knew our Mabel,
    You'd see just why I spluttered,
    I'd spent two months in traction
    For the last complaint I'd uttered.

    She stood there nude and naked
    Bent forward just a bit
    I went to hold her, sensual like
    and stood on her left tit!

    Mabel screamed, her teeth shot out;
    My god what had I done!?
    She moaned and groaned then shouted out:
    "Step on the other one"!!

    Well readers, I can't tell no more;
    About what occurred that very day.
    Suffice to say my jet black hair,
    Turned fifty shades of Grey.
