Ghost voting and voter fraud are two very different issues though, both important but different so why conflate the issue at hand? I agree voter ID is a silly issue, but the reason it is an issue pushed mainly by republicans is that it does favour them. Voters most likely not to have ID are the young and minorities, or to put it another way, those most likely to vote democrat. Texas for example will allow gun licences as a valid voter ID but not student ID. This isn't a voter ID issue to avoid fraud, it is just another way of suppressing the vote.
