Nevermind testing for un-intended side effects, OFF and RAID are specifically out to inflict harm. Also IAMS is another pet food manufacturer.

Glad to see they're using the finest Hellman's thermal paste. Other mayos just don't have the same cooling capabilities ;)

Not really demote but, the wife was doing the food shopping online, a few mintutes ago and, came upon "outdoor bred chipolatas". I don't think I've ever seen a sausage farm and I've spent most of my life living in farming communities.

"Outdoor bred" a great advertising statement to make you think the pork you're eating came from a pig that lead a life outdoors before going to the abattoir, where as normally the Sow and Boar live outside then as soon as possible the piglets are moved into intensive indoor units.

How do you get organic salt? It's an ingredient on the exemptions list from the soil association etc.. as it can't be organic.

They let it roam naturally before culling it. Even then the culling is humane.

It's 100% pure, unadulterated, marketing bollocks... like 'organic' labelling in general tbh...

Only reason I buy "organic" anything is because "organic" meat farms tend to have higher welfare standards (like "free range" hens actually being free range). But yes, it's total guff. If you had non-organic carrots they'd be made out of stone or metal because a carrot, by its very nature (what with it being a plant an' all), is already organic.

Organic doesn't mean pesticide free either... in fact some of the 'organic' approved pesticides are pretty nasty stuff...

'This tomato is non-GMO', well of course it is... given there are [last i checked] not varieties of GM tomato on the market... you're just trying to scare people into paying more...

Our farm here was Organic (still is officially till the end of the month) and we can in fact use almost all the same drugs as a non-organic farm it's just that we need to justify each use of the item, IE. no blanket treatments, only treat specific animals. Of course it is possible to get permission from the organic society for a blanket treatment if needed.
The main reason I look for Organic is for the higher animal welfare standards if I'm honest, but as I've been on first name terms with all our beef and pork for the last 4 years I haven't bought much meat from the shops.
In terms of vegetables there is quite a difference in the allowed use of pesticides from non-organic and in fact carrots are one of the items with the biggest difference between the two in terms of the amount of chemical they are potentially exposed to.

The variety of fruit/veg has a greater impact than how the variety is farmed... Red/Golden Delicious apples are crap regardless of how they're farmed...
