    Back when I was at college, there was a local remaindered papyrus seller - y'know, the ones that sell overstock and returns and the like at bargain-basement prices. Well, this particular store was going under - so brought in a bunch of grocers' scales and let you buy books by weight.

    Chuffin' loved it. Went out with arms laden, but none for decoration - they were all well-loved, though most have sadly been donated on to new homes to make room for children.

    I must get back to Hay-on-Wye if we ever get out of this plague. 50+ secondhand bookstores (some with honesty boxes!) within 1 mile of the town centre, and several very nice pubs to examine your plunder in!
    Recommended procedure:-
    • Bookshop, bookshop, bookshop, pub.
    • Bookshop, bookshop, pub.
    • Bookshop, pub.
    • Pub.
    • Repeat.

    The thing is, Gareth, I'd wager that you've read, browsed, skimmed and or at least opened all of those. I seriously doubt those in the article will receive anything more than an occasional dusting.
