ChatGPT bot escaped confinement and hacked at least four companies.

    BBC link

So, to be clear, the biggest AI player built an ai hacking bot and presumably did a piss poor job of sandboxing it, so it escaped and started hacking AI and other undisclosed companies?

It definitely wasn't designed with that in mind though, right?

If the AI companies show they cannot be trusted, then they need to be tightly regulated.

Which is why they've thrown tens, if not hundreds, of million dollar sums at supporting political candidates who oppose such regulation.

To paraphrase a quote I saw online (and now can't find)...

"The underlying purpose of AI is to give the wealthy access to skills to prevent the skilled from accessing wealth".

Thinking I should learn some survival skills and build a cosy log cabin deep in the woods to ride out the impending AI apocalypse.

    I said it before but...

AI isn't going to rise up and exterminate mankind, it will just bullsh!t some gullible moron into initiating a conflict that brings about it's desired goal.

That sounds like a pretty nice idea regardless of any apocalypse that may or may not be imminent.

We need to be quick and take out the Orange Dictator, before an AI bot gets to him.

Too late. His truth social posts already look like they were written by a hallucinating AI.

I see that Ricky Gervais's cat cartoon has been slated by the reviews.

Might give the first episode a go just to see how bad it is.

Never did find Gervais’ style particularly funny and, his voice is rather irritating. For Alley Cats to be criticised for excessive swearing, in a time when much swearing in comedy seems to be routine, suggests to me it has to be bad.

Not going to take up a Netflix sub.

I grew-up with the likes of Spike Milligan, Les Dawson, the Two Ronnies and Morecambe and Wise. I’m not going to say all new comedians are bad, because they are not and, swearing in comedy is fine but, excessive swearing is just lazy and unfunny.
