I still always do everything metric for things i can physically measure and imperial for anything bigger lol 'Oh it's XYZ kilometers away' means bugger all to me

The UK does like to use some odd combinations. The company I work for sells earthing and lightning protection materials and our standard earth rod is 5/8" diameter x 1.2m long.........

 

Aslong as you dont do this, you can use whatever you like.

just l2 maths. i do all my imperial/metric conversion in my head, quite easy after you've practiced for a bit
