right where to start, well we cant afford broadband so fair enough we hae been asked & we simpl said not interested, well they sent someone to our house to bang on our door to try & get us to sign, to wrestle out 2nd (not jsut an internet line) phone line away from us, the guy would not take no for an answer spouting facts like the dial up service is going in september, that 96% of customers have moved to broadband, that the price was goiing up for new subscribers & the instalation price was going up to over £50.
god we could not get rid of him so i had to but in & say that ti would cause too much disruption to my lan by dropping another nic into my main rig to accept braodband (looking @ me like im sppeking marshan) so i simply say that my network would be disrupted by another Network card (total rubbish i know) & then (youl like this) he siad that i could go with USB cable modem, he put his foot in it there, i simply said that they take too much resources away from my machine, they are not relaible from what i had hered, that i prefer network devices using the proper hardware not some cheap mass manufactured lump of plastic taking my resorces (&i need them for ud to keep up its good work) & then i fobbed him off by saying that usb cable modems are insecure & do not work under linux & BeOS (& then he asked me what Linux & BeOS was!!!!)

honestly does anyone else think its not on sending someone to your doorstep to pressure you to buy somehting you dont want & we have had NTL phonelines since they launched, we were one of the first subscribers to the dial up service but if it goes on like this im off back to BT & go bck to madasafish (the best ISP i have ver had the pleasure to use)

total showoff, free cable & you even have a flash computer
my rig duron 700 running ona unknown mainboard, gf2mx graphics 5400 fujitsu HD, cheap taiwanese DVD, memorex 12X10X32 CDR-W 3com soundcard, sb16, isa susi card

(i think i needa new system but tis watercooled)

i wish i could have cable but funds are not there (ntl basically want all the 2nd lines to sell on to new customers for more but im keeping this number as its the only phone number i have ever had that i can remember)

NTL or ITV DIGITAL -which is the wors company
answer neither are any good, if NTL keep making fools of themselves im changing seriveces

my pc is allright....in the process of getting upgraded....i used to run dial up but cause we ended up having 4 phone lines, cause to many people need the net at my house we changed...

u could try pipex adsl for only 16quid a month...i would change as its cheaper but cant be bothered with the hassle....

I thought West Yorks was Telewest territory?

Maybe NTHell are putting the onus onto sales to try and get figures back up. Which is a bad move cos I've always known that all the staff know jack about anything to do with PCs.
