Well, it started on Saturday, with episode 1 - 'Smith & Jones' I thought it was the best opening episode of NuHu yet - much better than 'New Earth' last season, and infinitaly better than 'Rose' in the 1st season. But that's probably becuase there wasn't any burping wheelie bins in it... Oh, and it still maybe aimed at kids, but it's miles better than Torchwood. Fact. I particuarly liked the references back to previous episodes - Spoiler "Oooo - you've got a shop" , but the throwaway line explaining the inexplicable likeness of Martha to the woman who got killed at Torchwood 1 by the Cybermen felt a little bit like an afterthought. All in all, two thumbs up from GOO. Really looking forward to next week's one with Shakespear in it. I'll have my straw ready... P.S. VOTE SAXON!
Speaking of Mr Saxon: http://www.votesaxon.org.uk/ He's obviously had enough of Gene Hunt, has woken up (but has forgotten his name) and is now running for office... Oh - and catch up on Martha's musings here: http://myspace.com/marthajonesuk I have to say it's a bit sad that a fictional character in a (lets face it) kiddie's SciFi show has a much more fleshed out MySpace page than most 'real' people's entries
Not a bad series start. LOTS of improvement before it'll ever displace Jon Pertwee and Tom baker in my heart.
OK, maybe I'm just a bit thick, but I don't get the reference of "Vote Saxon" at all. Apparently it has something to do with some other show that I haven't seen. Someone please shed some light on this for me.
Cheers for the link Doug I'll just have to re-watch the first two seasons and Torchwood to see if I catch it this time. Spoiler It would be fun to have the Master back, but I'm afraid of just rehashing the same things over and over again. Kind of like the Daleks.
