Yeah... the bigger sites got all the info 1st... and a lot of it was just the marketing BS which i had to tone down a bit.

However, I have a 200mb mpeg of the GeForceFX. I shall upload this for you all :) I aint watched it though, no idea whats in it :D

i would like to see a watercooling solution avaliable for this card. Its an enthusiast market so youve got to assume they know what they are buying and have an extreme setup. Otherwise if i can get hold of one id like to try n make one :) But the HSF is just ludicrous tbh :blah:

All very well. Yet more largely unecessary 3d power. Have NVidia done anything about their appalling 2d quality?

The GF4 was a vast improvement over previous products. On a par with Matrox.

OMG I just can't wait for this card, I think it's amazing and I can't wait for Doom III to play on it!!! I think games are going to change loads once this is out, hopefully anyway

On a par with Parhelia? With 350MHz 8 bit RAMDACs? Pull the other one.

I'm not talking on some silly little OEM 17" shadow mask ****e. I'm talking about running a DECENT monitor at a DECENT resolution. NVidia are miles behind on this. Ati are closest to parhelia, but still not quite there.

I wasn't referring to Parhelia since I haven't tried one. I was talking about the previous generation matrox. 400s etc. :D

Comparing to the G400 is completely unfair though. In the days of the G400 (when NVidia's competition was the TNT2 Ultra) 19" monitors were a luxury and 21"s were extremely rare indeed for home users.

And so what you're saying is that NVidia, with the GF4, finally matched a 4 year old Matrox? Wow....

'Fraid Matrox have moved on in the meantime though....

Let me rephrase. Most consumers don't even have a properly calibrated monitor irrespective of size or quality. These people who are the vast majority of high street card buyers will see a big improvement over previous GF incarnations to a percieved level produced by Matrox.

Yes Matrox have moved forward but they are well behind in the 3D stakes, (regardles of their claims), which is what is currently driving the consumer graphic card market.

Personally, I am a great fan of Matrox and have been for many years but when it comes to 3D games, which would cover the majority of BiT-Tech readers, then nVidia is the current leader.

Professional users will look at various cards on their individual merits to cover their specific needs.

Sure, Nvidia is the 3d leader, but I am, and I think well over 95% of people here would be, perfectly happy with the 3d capabilities of my GF3, which the parhelia easily exceeds.

It's all very well getting 20000000000 3dmarks, but the fact is that hardware is massively outpacing software right now, and I've not yet come across a game that runs slowly on my present machine, which I have not upgraded (other than the hard disk) in over a year.

Thus, I refuse to be drawn in by the hype. I want a real-world benefit (2d quality) which NVidia seem not to want to provide me.

Why don't Nvidia and Matrox team up and produce a card with the Geforce speed and Matrox quality then everyone would be happy?

soooo RTT whers this video eh?

so acording to the bottom of the article these babies will hit around january? grrr.... might have to delay building my system to get my hands on one of these puppies. considering DOOM III whips almost any curent system, it'd be a waste to get something that cant cut it
