I need to buy a cheap graphics card to replace one that died, but I'm no longer bothered about gaming ability. I've seen this one which has 64mb, but can utilise system memory upto 256mb. Is this constant, or just when it needs the extra memory?

I ask as the card will be used in a recording studio PC, not for gaming, so wont need more than the on-board 64mb, and I don't want it stealing the system RAM which will be needed for recording.

Only uses it when it's needed. You'll be fine.
