As I found when getting my 3080, there is no Paypal option on FE cards, only card, finance & bitcoin. Probably because Scan are just selling on Nvidia's behalf.

I managed to snag a 3060 recently, whether that was a smart move or not is questionable, but regardless i'm now part of the BIG graphics card club. It's a monster btw!

managed a AMD 6600XT @ £375 which will seems a good buy as its faster than 3060 which above £450 but worse than 3060Ti (by a good margin) which cant be had for less than £600+

As an FYI my RX480 went bang last year before i managed to upgrade so im on an emergency HD7850 !!!

The Radeon 6600XT Still in stock at £429 at Scan, or £959 for a 6800XT (in stock) :hehe:

Actually ditch both of those, the 3800 (non-Ti) can be had for £999 at Scan (in stock, although only one card)

Is the graphics card shortage finally abating?!

Shortage, to an extent it is freeing a little.
Pricing, it'll all go up from a cost perspective but availability will drive margins down. As such cards will likely hover around where they are now for a bit until the memory and a few other bits drop back down in price after their rises.

    Fun fact:

The 6600XT has identical size VRAM, extremely similar die size and TDP close to the RX580 and both are marketed as 1080p cards, except the RX580 was £200:grin:

Big difference in terms of architecture and features across generations though, the 6600XT can almost certainly do more with its TDP budget than the RX580 could.

Whether you think that's worth the extra cost is an entirely different matter though .

Don't get me wrong, the performance is certainly miles apart, I just find it funny that there is so much alignment.

PSA - There seems to be a FE drop at Scan right now.

There have been 3080Ti & 3070Ti cards available. 3080 may appear in the next few hours.

how hot are peoples card getting?
my 3080 fe is sometimes at 75c or 80 when it was really warm while my 2080ti evga ftw3 never went higher than 35c during really warm weather

my pc case is the massive old case labs th10 with pedestal bottom and is very well ventilated

    mine tops out at 72c
My 1080 use to sit at 82c as designed

35c on the 2080ti must be a thermometer reading error

Pretty effin' hot. My office room is warm anyway, but when playing Warzone my 3070 Ti is hitting 83 degrees in about 28-30 degrees ambient. The AIO for my 5900X acts as an intake though so that won't help - I don't have the space in this case to roof-mount a 360mm AIO.

Mine's not bad at all, but the big bertha cooling solution on the 3090fe is quite a step up from the shorter dual slot fe coolers.

i used to think that was what the reason was but the heatsink never got warm to the touch, having said that its in a smaller case hooked up to a vr headset and sits around 69c when gaming and you can hear the fans spin up faster something i never noticed in my big case

as for 3080ti i think i am going to water cool it
