Whelp, went from 130 to 84 in the queue overnight. At this rate, I expect to get my 5090 early June. When summer is underway and I should spend more time outside. Grr. I wonder if I can do a year's worth of gardening and house cleaning in the next two months...
Mighty fine looking option hope the queue speeds up for you. Given the incredible weather recently there's certainly a case for starting summer early. And then during the inevitable torrential downpours in June you'll be cosying inside with one of the better 5090s Several 5080 and 5070ti models have been in stock at reasonable prices at OCUK and Scan, we're seeing stock levels overall improve. For the first time one could actually comfortably choose between different models, same for the 9070 XT. Even white versions were looking not-crazy. We're also seeing 5090 prices on eBay very close to MSRP. We're obviously doing a lot better than the USA. Yet most of the YouTube presence focuses on the US market so it's easy to import the wrong impression. If anything I expect tariffs will send more cards to non-US countries.
I bit at a 5070 Ti ( well 2 only temporarily though) and I've got to say as big an AMD fan boy as I am I'm very impressed with all this new frame gen malarkey on cyberpunk with everything maxed out it looks incredible. That's coming from a 7900xtx
I think he's referring to DLSS multi frame gen which is Nvidia specific. Most reviewers don't include that in the charts. You trade off some responsiveness/input lag for drastically higher frame rate. Or even regular DLSS upscaling which might be a lot better in Cyberpunk than FSR4
You don't get any more performance though with framegen, the numbers just go up with a bit of latency hit so you need to have a good level of base performance in the first place. That said it's a decent effect and have actually used it with my handheld which doesn't have the best frame rates even with FSR as the extra frame interpolation from framegen seems to help the artefacting from aggressive FSR required to run latest games at a decent framerate on an APU. Back on subject though, a few places have 5090s in today, CCL and scan had some in.
I think their biggest mistake was to call it Frame Gen, instead of frame smoothing. It works, but it's little more than BS to frame it (heh) as a raw performance increase feature.
Yeah I watched a DF vid on YT about the driver stability a couple of days ago. I haven't seen the GN vid yet. Nvidia need to get a handle on that, PDQ, as it was always a strength of theirs. I wonder if it's a consequence of them dedicating fewer resources to Geforce in the light of the AI push.
I install the latest drivers for last of us the other days, black screen crash during the install, whereas my AMD handheld, flawless. How the tables have turned. I used AI to write some EDA code the other day, just a few prompts, amazing, it didn't work of course but what it did do as a starting framework and how it distilled my inputs down into a far more professional spec in a number of seconds was impressive, this is going to make design manuals and spec docs etc look good, of course, it'll need a good proof read because it lies
I haven't run into the issue regarding the current drivers, but I'm only running a single display, and have been playing Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, which doesn't have a lot of the new features.
I don't think they would be that stupid, more likely they are just skipping some of the usual testing in a rush to try fixing the blackscreen bug.
Yes 7900xtx faster a lot of the time but as soon as ray tracing is involved the 5070 ti is streets ahead.
ASUS GeForce RTX 5090 ROG Astral LC OC 32GB GDDR7 Graphics Card dropping tonight at 7pm CCL crack open your piggy banks, hope they are big full pigs.
