How utterly crap is nVidia's new "Control panel" in the new Forceware drivers??

I can't believe it. It's removed all my profiles for games without prompting, it no longer shows the overclocking options if you have the coolbits registry hack.. it's childish, annoying, and to me, just seems like an extension of every other annoyingly useless windows help file.

What on earth are they doing???

Old drivers going straight back on.

To get back to the old control panel:
Go to display properties > Settings > Advanced > Name of gfx card > Control Panel User Interface > Classic nVidia control panel
    :)

There is the option to turn on coolbits - I've used it in all reviews using the 90-series drivers.

What about that SLI warning? I'm not putting it back on until I know I can disable that. Anyone done it yet?

SLI pop up is a pain, even more so when you miss the x and a page tries to load

    Crashing NVIDIA WHQL Drivers

Hopefully not many of you will fall victim to this due to the new series 5 NVIDIA nForce motherboard product just now getting to market, but is something to be aware of. We have tested two nForce 570 SLI chipset motherboards here recently that do not take well to the latest v91.31 WHQL video card drivers when using the latest v9.16 WHQL chipset drivers from NVIDIA. In fact, using these v91.31 drivers with the nForce 570 resulted in crashed operating systems and corrupted hard drives. It seems that the problem may not stop there either. One source in Taiwan mentioned that the problem might extend to the Intel 955X chipset as well.

nVidia Forceware V91.31 has compatible problem with nForce 570 SLI and Intel 955X chipset. Please downgrade to nVidia Forceware V84.21 or try the latest V91.33beta.

The v91.33 Beta video card drivers are available directly from NVIDIA.

From our internal testing, it seems as if the v91.33 beta drivers do in fact fix the severe crashing issue.

I'm STILL arsing about with this.

Right.. the latest problem is the taskbar icon. I've set this to be disabled because I dont want it, and everytime I reboot, it's back, and enabled in the driver window.

Anyone else got this problem? I dont want a bloody icon in my systray!!

Why are Nvidia being so bloody stupid?? Did they not get any feedback from people before releasing this latest driver? It's done NOTHING but piss me off since I installed it. If I take it off, Steam keeps bugging me that I've not got the latest drivers... Arrrghhh!!!

Seriously considering going ATi if this doesn't get resolved.

On my way now... Haven't even checked since I installed this, as I've been too busy trying to get it work as well as the 89.xx drivers... which were flawless IMO.

I'll install it and see. Cheers :thumb:

    [edit]

    That sorted it.

I did 91.31 a couple of days ago and since reverted back to the 8x.xx. as soon as i had installed the 91.31 my it's start getting nv_driver bluescreens with my 6800GT. sure the card was OC's but not any more then it had been with the 8x.xx's for months before hand with no problems.

91.31 is faster on my 7600GT then 8x.xx in just about everything.
