    @baz

    There's a site called lambda-tek(sp?) who have 80 in stock@£248 ...for example. And AMD are gonna have their 69xx's out way before those, on that one site, sell out.

    Agree completely, and they seem pretty serious about customer service which is worth is weight in gold.

    When did the game testing change? Seems like this line-up is less power hungry compared to previous reviews

    Nice card, looks great value compared to a 580. Will be interesting to see if the 6950 & 6970 can compete with the 570/580 and force a bit of a price war. I hope so.

    Any idea how this stands up to 2x GTX460 1GB in SLI?

    I think I'll wait for the 560, then grab a 1GB 460 when it's price drops below £100.

    I was thinking this was the card for me, but then I remembered the 6970 looming. No point buying until we know which is best price/perf - hurry up amd!

    Still sucks too much power in my opinion. I'm *very* eagerly awaiting the GTX560, considering that AMD/ATi in conjunction with Microsoft has left us CRT users in the lurch (*cough*refresh rate override*cough*).

    Assuming you game at 1920x1080 or below then it will be slower (GTX460 SLI is generally faster than a GTX580 especially when overclocked).

    At 2560x1600 though the 460's whilst having the rar GPU grunt to chew through most games, run out of memory.

    I agree, out of all these only Dirt 2 gave my aging 8800gtx (but with WC and oc to 650mhz) any trouble, and I despise the game anyway. The games that gave me trouble, that I can think of, were AvP, Arma2, Metro 2033 and ofcourse Crysis.

    Just got around to reading this review and I'm wondering whether it's accidental or deliberate that you have placed a subtle spin on the article every time you mention the VRAM quantity of the card. ;)

    Both the GTX470 and the GTX570 share 1280MB of VRAM. This is 1.25GB (working on the idea that 1024MB is 1GB, a la all the 1GB cards). However, you have labelled the GTX470 as 1.2GB and the GTX570 as 1.3GB on every single graph.

    While I can understand the rounding (just, I presume you don't want to have "1.25GB" taking up a lot of room on the graphs) I fail to grasp why you have rounded one (coincidentally, the old one) down and one (the new one) up. If both were the same, I'd not have mentioned it. :)

    edit: 1280 posts... :clap:

    How good is the exhaust? If I wanted to put four of these in a case for folding, would that be asking for trouble?

    Its your lucky number.

    I'm with PingCrosby: My GTX460 will last a good while.
