Looks like the card that could replace my aging 8800GT 512MB, depending on how the ATI 6xxx series performs.

I'm on a GTX 280 at the moment and seriously considering this as an upgrade, but I think I'll wait and see what the Radeon 69XX are like first. Looks like Nvidia might have a winner though!

They may be decent in their own rights, but they're still jokes. nVidia have literally released the GTX570 and 580 as if they were a new generation, with new generation prices, when essentially what you're getting is 2 cards that should have been out last year, with AMD about to release their new generation top end cards.

If they put display port on their cards, you'd be able to use "2D Surround" without having to use SLi, and we know nVidia don't want that. They need as many people buying their cards as possible now, and if they can force their diehards to buy 2 for SLi just to use 3 monitors, then that's what they're gonna do.

Of course, it'd be simple for them to include display port on their cards, but nVidia don't do simple, it's always got to be convoluted nonsense.

I don't like how this ultranew gaming-machine can only manage around 70 fps average in Bad Company 2 1680x1050. I have a much older machine (2007), but considering buying a new card just to ramp up some fps in BC2. When I see these results I have to think otherwise?

    intel q6600 @ 2.9
    2x2GB valueram
    radoen 4870 512mb
Vista and 7200rpm 500gb os-disk. (wont buy ssd and win7 yet)

    What you guys think?

I know what you mean, I have an E8400 and a GTX260 rev2 and it has played everything I have thrown at it so far.

I am just about at the point now though where it is not quite giving me the ooomph I need in some games.

I think with Sandybridge and new ATI cards soon (and the effect they will have on prices) that the New Year is going to be a really exciting time to plan that new build.

I would like to see one of the benckmark made in 3D stereo. For 3dtv owners all benchmarks on internet are useless to some degree. Will be nice if Bit-tech start to do at least one benchmark in 3D-Stereo.
