My 450w PSU will handle one of these just fine. You dont really need a 1000w PSU unless you are using 3 or more high end GPU's.

Although I don't fold myself (yet, it's something I've considered for a while) this appears to be a dream ticket for folders as it seems to have astounding performance at a reduced power cost.
For SLI, the thermals seems to be a gift.

    Daggit... :(

    I bought a 580 just before Christmas...
    (awesome review, btw)

Thank you for the best review ive seen on here for a long time! Seriously nice work, if this is the standard for all the new reviews i for one will be making this site my first port of call. As for the card WOW! may have to bribe the wife to get a new rig.

Arma 2 i wonder how many actually play it or is it strictly there as a benchmark game

    nice review

already got mine ordered from scan

the power usage alone is a good enough reason to upgrade for most

    Just ordered one from dabs.

Evga was originally £439 they've dropped it to £409 and if you use the code spring25 you get £25 off.

Birthday tomorrow so going to spend it playing with my new bargain toy.

They had 14 left after I bought it so be quick if you want one.

    Okay, so I'm a weak-willed prat.

I caved and bought one, regardless of the fact I think it doesn't represent a sensible upgrade.

So now my question is, is it worth me going to Ivy Bridge for PCI-E 3.0?

Now *IF* BF3 performance is gonna sway your buying decisions like that, then I suggest a quick peek here:

    (Single monitor)
    http://www.hardocp.com/article/2012/03/22/nvidia_kepler_gpu_geforce_gtx_680_video_card_review/5

    (Multi monitor)

.... I would just recommend going away and coming back to the graphics card market for a full month. Surely all these prices will turn out to be quite fluid.

I dunno about a 570, but we're tripping over 580s in the marketplace. :hehe:

I would, but there'd be little point in a 580 for me, not much of an improvement and puts SLI out of the question ;)
