    Cost.

Overclockers have an Inno3d one with the Titan cooler on preorder for £360ish.

that one is easy - the ram bus of 256bit lends itself to `easily` having 1 >2>4 gb , whereas the AMD 384bit ram bus would give 1.5 (which would be a nice option) >3>6 GB

I miss the good old 512bit bus on the GTX280 :)

Damn, I will be doing a new pc build in September, so I don't know if I should get a cheap card until Maxwell is out or just get a good card at the time. I have a 470 GTX at the moment so anything I get is going to be a big jump, but I don't want to get a card on the current architecture if the next one comes out a month later :(

Get a HD7950 and clock it a bit.

Very similar overall performance to the GTX770 (when clocked) and around £80 cheaper (£240-£320)

"With a TDP of 230W, the card is quite a bit more power-hungry than the GTX 680 (195W) and as such requires both a six- and a four-pin PCI-E power input, compared to the 680's twin six-pin connectors. In fact, this card is only 20W lower TDP than GTX 780/GTX Titan."

Surely that should say "six- and a eight-pin"

Good point! Still - making a card with 4Gb standard shouldn't push the price up that far, should it?

True - but buying power like that should see that the cost per card isn't mental. BUT - I guess that having 2Gb as standard means that people will have to buy new cards in a few years... Guaranteed(?) sales.

I think you'll find that most people looking at these high end cards will likely upgrade their GPUs every generation or two anyway.

More mid range in Nvidias pricing structure of late, do wonder if that's how nvidia see the 770 as there mid range lead card.

Any guesses as to how much more the 4Gb version will cost? Mind you, I'm looking at the end of the summer for upgrade time, and by that time there'll be something else I guess.

    This is my exact question.

Honestly I am very disappointed that no reviews mention the fact that whilst every reviewer had a sample with the amazing stock cooler all you can buy are a variety of third party options (some of which look absolute crap).

Ok, reviewers don't get to choose what card they get, and Nvidia do not stipulate to board partners which cooler to run. Even so, it feels like a BS bait and switch operation.

Worth going for I think with consoles coming up having 4GB VRAM. :)
