    DAYUM! :jawdrop: :jawdrop: :jawdrop:

I'm looking to spend a bit less than the cost of that for my entire next PC. I need to win the lottery...

Nice card and a good reviews as always, but for the first time in a long time, I'm really not tempted to go for top of the range Nvidia card.
I had a couple of Titans and whilst they were very nice cards they still stuttered in SLI when I was playing BF4.

You mention in the review that you will be using the new drivers on other Nvidia cards; when AMD release new official drivers will you update the AMD cards scores too? I'm no AMD fanboi, but the 14.2 beta drivers really do make a difference for me on BF4.

Your BF4 scores for the 290X were pretty much what I saw on the 13.12 drivers. The difference (in BF4) with the 14.2 beta drivers is massive and mantle works too (I have a 4930k @ 4.5ghz so wasn't expecting much from Mantle). These drivers have given me the biggest boost I have ever seen from either company.

Makes me happy to see that this card doesn't really gain anything over my 780Ti's in games :)

Pointless card for anyone who only wants to game.

They always were pointless for just gaming once the 780ti launched. Plenty of sites run up to date driver reviews. Updating bit techs for every review would mean you never have anything to compare it too.

AMD and nvidia see massive gains in drivers as the time goes on after the launch of there big cards. 7970 and 680 have both gained 20-25% since the orginal launch of the cards. The 7970 cfx has gone from unplayable to playable due to frame pacing.

As far as mantle chris no frame pacing means I have no intrest in it simple enough. 4k will be my next big upgrade and 1 Gpu is not going to run it smoothly. AMDs lack of frame pacing in mantle means its Irelivent to me as it is to others. It's relying on devs to do the work, Thief launched without mantle at all suggests AMD is in crazy land. Most if not all 2014 releases for mantle will have it added on in patches or as a after thought.

It will be 2015 before we see a mantle developed game due to the way game development times are.

Some people I know in USA can buy 2 780s for 1 r290 due to the current crytocraze.

The new beta drivers do have frame pacing. If you read the release notes here, you can see that it clearly states that they do now (for BF3 / BF4 at least).

Its direct x 10 / 11 only. AMD confirmed in there initial press release that mantle frame pacing would be handled by the devs of the game.

    Frame pacing for duel graphics.

No where does it mension the word mantle and frame pacing.

Awfully weird at 3840x2160 or 5760x1080 you'd expect the 6GB VRAM to kick in and give it a not-irrelevant performance advantage over the 780ti.

Meh, I'm waiting for performance/high end Maxwell (I really want to play Witcher 3 max and future games @2560x1440, hopefully they'll be a 4GB 512-bit memory-bus one this year).
