Surprised or otherwise, anyone in the ATI camp can't be feeling too happy today. The X850 XT PE used in our group test is the fastest card they do - no sign of Crossfire yet

Not good at all for ATI, really...they need to get on the stick and get their R520 released, or they need to make sure it's waaaay better than the 7800 at this point. The 7800GT is a lower pricepoint than ATI's highest offering, but clobbers the heck out of it.

I want to see ATI come out swinging with the R520...I hope that's the reason for the delay, is coming up with a truly next-gen chip. Sadly, I don't see that happening yet with the new WGF coming up to replace directX, and all this talk about unified everything...I have a feeling even the R520 will be nothing but a stopgap to hold them over until the next big battle, which won't even be until late 06. That's a long time to go with a completely inferior product...
