I'm trying to fix an Alienware system with a dead Motherboard, it's an Nvidia nforce 790i ultra sli which appears to be discontinued :wallbash:. What I'm after is either a good alternative to get the pc back to life, or even better if any one knows where I can find one in stock it would be very helpful.

Currently it's already down to one graphics card, so the dual card support isn't essential.

    Thanks

just get any LGA 775 motherboard, like a ASUS striker extreme II or something like that.

ASUS p5Q pro will do all you need and is better than the nforce board anyway.

wouldnt touch the striker as its stupidly expensive and 775 is dead.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll check those out.

Not sure it's a standard case, it's a pretty big one from Alienware, plenty of space inside. Any particular aspects I need to check out to make sure the motherboards would fit ok?

Power/reset connectors may not be standard, check those out, take a pic and post here if you're not sure.

Thanks for the help, PC's back in action now. Unfortunately didn't appear the motherboard that was the problem after all, also needed a new graphic card before it was back to life. But at least it's now souped up a bit and in better shape than before.
