    From ExtremeTech:

Nvidia Corp. said this week that it has reworked its nForce3 Media Communications Processor (MCP) chip to take advantage of the new Socket 939 interface that Advanced Micro Devices introduced.

Nvidia also said that it would include the 3 Gbit/s Serial ATA-2 interface on the nForce line by the end of the year, and came up with its own "Nstant Media" preboot environment to allow notebook PC users to quickly access multimedia files through a custom preboot environment.

The AMD Socket 939 design allows AMD's processors to take advantage of new DDR2-400 DRAM, and Nvidia redesigned its hardware to take advantage. Silicon Integrated Systems Inc., meanwhile, designed its own chipset to be able to connect to as-yet-unreleased DDR2-667 memory.
