So what exactly is the Titan, or the point of it and why isn't it called a 780 or something? We haven't had something distracting from the bog standard 580/590/680/690 nomenclature for a while, and the Ultras of the 8800 days kind of passed me by.
Link not working? Guess they had to take it down... This one is working. Tri SLI Titans anyone? Clicky
I can imagine those SLI figures being useful for T_G's next build Seriously though, the real world power of these cards seems phenominal
What are AMD up to though? http://techreport.com/review/24368/fate-of-amd-sea-islands-obscured-in-the-fog Will there be a 8970 to compete?
If rumors are true, then 1 of these will be more than enough for triple 1080P monitors or projectors in my case.
I can't believe how near this is now. Definitely going to get one on release - pending availability. Maybe 2 if they're not too obscenely priced
You know what think AMD has made a bold and good move as do we really need a 780 with the games currently out.
I think what he's implying is that AMD are with holding putting out another card because the pc games market has trouble challenging the current generation of cards. This is a bold move. Where's as nvidia are just pumping out cards at the same old regular pace, which is not a bold move. These are my interpretations of his post. (Although this titan would have been the 680 had AMD put forward something comparable as the 7970, so you could say this release and price is a direct result of AMD not doing a good enough job.)
