Some of their PSUs were OK. Sirfa, Sifa? something like that made them.

I do like my Revodrive but it is annoying and incredibly quirky. Can't say I'll be sad to see them go after the nightmare with their DDR3.

I've never had a problem with them either, it'll be a shame if they go.

Always sad to see hardware companies close. It means less consumer choice and less competition in the market segment.

That's a shame. I've found their kit to function perfectly well, though I got the impression their Agility drives were prone to malfunction (although I used to have an Agility drive that worked fine).

They have in the higher margin commercial and enterprise sense, which is what OCZ is aiming to angle itself towards. Basically there's little to no money in the SSD market anymore unless you control the flash. The whole 3rd party SSD market has more or less collapsed because the NAND makers either aren't willing to sell it, you need special friends, or don't have enough to meet beyond the needs of their own sales, or they moved production into lucrative markets like eMMC etc.
OCZ consumer division seems to be on the wind down, which is a shame as I knew a lot of great, passionate people there who were genuinely very good at their job relating to PC enthusiasts. I hope they made the transition.

NAND is now been used by those that make it. They have spent a fortune does not help matters. Seagate and wd would both face similar issues to other 3rd party buyers of nand.

The 3rd party consumer ssd market has basically collapsed. The NAND costs are higher therefore there prices are higher which makes you uncompetitive vs the competition who uses there own.

Ocz won't be the last to go bye bye in this sector.

Too true. I'd like to know the deals done by non-NAND companies who are still able to buy NAND. Everyone I talk to in TW can't buy the good stuff, only low quality for USB/MicroSD.
