Ditto flatworm......but if we all waited for the next release of anything - none of us would ever upgrade lol

ditto ringo. I'm waiting for my intel x-25m 80Gb, had I waited till after the new year it would have gone up in price by £30 (including the vat hike I suppose), and would have therefore affected my choice. CPU went up in price after I bought, GPU went down twice before it even got to me (supplier refunded the difference, thankfully)

I spose I could always have both. It's not like 120GB of super-speedy drive wouldn't be a situation much improved by the addition of 100-200GB of super, super-speedy drive... :)

    I know how you feel!

Oh well, I'm not upgrading my motherboard any time soon; with no SATA 6GB this would've made no real difference for me.

I bought a vertex 2e back in the summer, likewise, don't regret it... It's all good, as one day it will run out me space and when I do need to add to it the bigger, faster, cheaper the better! Btw, any ideas how much this would cost? Does it use fancy nand or is it the controller?

Sandforce huh. Better wait for benchmarks then. Still if it's <£1.20 per GB I'd certainly consider it.

I might wait till the c400 series comes out, and weigh things up at that time.

You can buy a PCI-E card for about £24 that adds 2x Sata6 (internal) & 2x USB3 (external) ports instead of buying a new mobo :)

I'd love one of these new Vertex 3. My current SSD uses the same controller as the Vertex 1 (which is still fast enough!)

No plans to upgrade OS drive tho, just installed the amazing Asus Essence STX audiophile headphone amp soundcard and some nice Grado headphones for music. :D Well recommended.

I'm just glad they can get those speeds without Trim being an issue.

I just picked up a sandforce based corsair drive and I don't regret it one bit. Sure faster is better, but after spending the previous 2 decades in mechanical HDD la la land, sandforce is one hell of an upgrade :D

Just bought a C300.. ah well Q2 would be too long away for the circumstances anyways

Interested to see new vertexes and next line from crucial go head to head, lot of improvements over past year in the ssd field alone
