Ive just been looking at these drives. Was woundering what the general feeling is about a 750mb read speed ssd system. I dont like the idea of a whole new port technology (HDSL). Who needs 700mb read speed? its nice yes but even if you have the money available a sensible 128gb c300 seems much wiser. What is on the horizon reference c300 generation 2 sata 3 (6gb) drives? Any one saving up for an SSD? http://www.overclockers.co.uk/productlist.php?groupid=1657&catid=1660&sortby=priceAsc&subid=1669 700mb per second read speed is pretty sick thou, thats impressive.
I think its the 100,000 IOPS that looks interesting. (assuming it actually performs at that level) Also, even if HDSL doesnt take off, you have the supplied adapter with it, so you have everything you need. Only disadvantage being if they stop making the adapters after a few years, and you are stuck with a drive you cant use!
I did a thread on this a while back, get with the times I've been contemplating one. It's such overkill though. The new Intel looks more interesting...
