Has anyone noticed a version of 'Microsoft Office 2003 Professional' that has the letters EV affixed to the end of its title? Dabs has it for a mere £130: http://www.dabs.com/uk/channels/software/businessandfinance/productView.htm?quicklinx=2RYX But just what is the difference? If it isn't an upgrade, could it be EValuation? Who would pay £130 for an evaluation? What could it be?
Education Version I think. Click the "Specification" tab - Licence Pricing: Academic. Think you can buy the education version in pc world too - valid if you or your kids are at school (or you're a teacher). And the licence will even let you install it on up to 3 PCs (which really surprised me). Edit: just noticed it says 1 user on the dabs one. out of stock anyway....
Ah yes! Thanks! I assumed that the "Student and Teacher" edition was the only academic licence available. I could do with Access, and I have a few brothers and sisters still in school...
Student and Teacher! That's the one I was thinking about - that gives you 3 user licence. pretty good value imo.
Education licensing is for people that are using office to teach people, like a company that does IT Training would get education licenses. not neccesarily just for teachers and students
Full list of who qualifies in the UK here. Covers most people in full-time education, a good deal if you want Access & Excel, otherwise Works Suite is a cheap way to get Word. In the USA you can also get Win XP Pro Upgrade cheaper along with a few more programs.
I thought it would be "Student and Teacher Edition" too, if you look under specification > License Pricing, it says "Academic". So is probably for academic stuff, i.e. students etc.
ah yes but you're forgetting that dabs have more mistakes in their product descriptions/specificiations/images than everyone else on the internet put together
