I really like the new design. Everything fits nicely, of course, I'm runnning 1280x1024, so this has never been an issue.

I do have a request though. Would it be possible to have the quick-reply box at the bottom of the page be an option that the user can choose not to display. I use a gesture recognition program, and when I try to close the window, it keeps trying to submit a message instead. It gets a bit frustrating after a while :)

Seems sorta childish looking. I actually liked the way of the old website look a lot more... With the news and articles smack in the middle, all of em.

Ok, I have knocked 50 pixels off the profile cell on the left over there (The bit with your name and avatar in it!) but applied this so far ONLY to the dark theme.

Could people take a look at that and let me know if that helps the width issue. It certainly looks a lot better in 1024x for me (Not that I personally had a problem with 1024x anyway :D)

If we like it and there's no obvious problems, I'll apply it to all the templates.

    profile cell width

Yes, the cut down profile cell is a lot better. No wasted space in it now. :)

Also just noticed that retro skin. ACE. :thumb:

the new retro colors are a huge improvement, but it would be better to have the buttons that way as well. and the thread status icons. we know we're on bit-tech. its not like having different colored bit-tech logos next to each thread will do anything besids (imo) look ugly and out of place with any color scheme.

The new design is not so bad BUT it's all horribly bloated now. It has like n+1 banners on the top plus that Google thing that covers wide pictures in modding threads. Keep it minimalistic dudes, believe me, it'll look WAY better!

I like that the quick-reply disappears when I don't want it. Now if only it would properly size to the page when it's open, that'd be great! :)

the colours at the top look like the site was made back when ms paint was still called paintbrush

theres so much more to take the piss out of but i so cant be arsed... to sum it up get rid of the cyan and maybe calm things down a bit. before this bit-tech looked so professional yet inviting (which was the winning combo imho) but now it looks like another flavour of the month website designed by some student for his college asp module homework...

but other than that its looking good lads

That or they can finally learn how to use Imageshack and make thumbnails. That pretty much fixes a lot of problems right off the bat.

Come on, let us have the option to skin the forum back to how it used to be...is there an icon to show you which threads you've posted in? the old design had a black dot on the thread....

AND how comes when you go to select some text, it selects the whole page? I like selecting text as I'm reading it.........

Can we have a poll of users who would like a skin of the old forum? This one does look a bit blocky.....Love the quickreply tho....

Are you kidding? I did most of it with Alien Skin Plugins and broke almost every marketable design rule in the book.. unique, yes.. professional, no. To me (and I designed both largely) it looked far more hobbyist back then.

And keep the sarcastic comments to yourself, this isn't what the threads for.

There won't be any reskinning, the site's been rebranded so no elements from the old site will come across. I feel this needs reiteration; I will TAILOR the new design to help those who miss some functionality of the old, but there is certainly no going back to what was before from a branding perspective. The old site is past, this is now present and in the future there will be something else.

FYI: The curvey arrow [IMG] tells you if you replied.

Maybe thats what drew us to it? ;)
This is ok, don't get me wrong, but it looked sleeker and more rounded with the old layout....Less 90 degree angles.....
