less than 3 weeks after I got my new car someone hit it, came out of work and the bodywork on the front was all messed up. No security cameras on that part of the parking lot so no compensation.

Just look at it the way I am, I get to put a GLI grill and front end on. :D

I had something similar happen to me to my new mustang. Parked it and someone must have backed into it. I had no proof so I didnt even bother with insurance. I took it to a local shop that did an amazing job repairing it.

They striped the area of paint and then with self welding tacks slowly pulled the dent. It was almost perfect when they pulled it, then the body shop guy went over it with new fangled plastic body filler which he sculpted easily and then he primed and painted it and cooked the paint in a booth and after clear coated it and baking it some more he then went on a 3 hour buff-athon. She looks amazing and I cant tell it was done even if I look at it with a magnifying glass. Not to mention the guy matched the paint so well that even the factory orange peel is uniform so it looks like its never been redone.

All that work cost me 350 usd and to be honest it is the best money I spent in a long time.

Moral of the story is that you should shop around and offer cash and find a good qualified person to do it.
