working on a the whole overhead projector + LCD mod... i had this lcd for a while but haven't used it in some time and decided it would be the candidate for this project, until i found this: (large version) would it be advisable to try to solder some kind of wire onto something that small? (i don't have the tools at present, i'd have to get some kind of mouse-sized soldering iron i guess) i stupidly ripped the entire thing apart before realizing it wouldn't work due to the pcb's wrapping around the back of the screen and get in the way (edit: screwed up large photo url)
it is possible to solder if you do it quickly and cool the cable from below to keep the plastic base film from melting. but remember that it's really hard to scrape the plastic off from the copper wires if you make a mistake and remove a contact point, so don't do any mistakes.
DONT SOLDER IT! You will only make a mess of it, just hunt for fcc extentions Count up the pins, and then have a look at lumenlab.com they sell some and rs and some other places do
nice, that's why i posted this here, i hoped someone would pop up with exactly what i needed =) (this seems to be it)
