    Lightning strikes woman's tongue stud

    A holidaymaker narrowly escaped death when lightning struck her tongue stud in an electrical storm. Becky Nyang, 26, was temporarily blinded, unable to talk and badly blistered by the bolt of electricity that surged through her body via the piercing.

    Sounds very painful indeed.

    I've always wanted to be struck by lighning, i'll remember to take out any piercings i have before i take my sit on a lighning mast :)

    well what was she doing sticking her tongue out in a thunder storm anyway??!!! Reminds me of that father ted episode where the priest they have staying gets struck by lightning playing crazy golf!

    She's from Reading... 'nuff said ;)

    I can honestly say out of all the things that go through my head during thunderstorms ("oooh pretty", "mustn't stand underneath trees", "that was loud", "don't use cordless phones", "metal tipped umbrellas are bad", etc...) I've never once thought "I must not poke my tongue out"... :p :hehe:

    Ouch, sounds painful. I know a few heavily-pierced people that should be struck by lightning and hopefully will be...
