I'm in australia. I was wondering where you could pick up some old computers for free or up to $10. Where should i look. Like at offices or schools or computer stores. I wont them simply for parts. I like to practice different installation methods and if i break a part, it wont matter. Thanks All help we be appreciated
i dont live anywhere near there but i can throw some guesses arround. ya schools arent a bad place to look, but dont get your hopes up. arround here theyv got computer recycling places in the city that i go to or find a good will or other thrift shop
I asked a teacher at are shool and they said it like how you have to bring one for everyone so they would have to have 1000 somthing old broken computers, but then again it was a teacher wonder what the princeble would say...well eny who ask eny one you meet I did and guess how many comps I gained from it so far not even one people just don't remember and I am sopposed to get this one one if I work for it but hell I havn't been able to goto his house scince I started asking wich was in agust.so good luck just ask friends and there parents affices somtimes upgrade and through out old comps.
ya what? That makes no sense at all to me! If I were you I'd try and use a spell checker before you post next time (not that I ever do but I don't think I'm normally /that/ bad!)
Or just learn some basic grammar My uni would not give away monitors they were sending away for recycling - it's a health and safety risk apparently
suppose it depends who you know really, i've had an old laser printer from a hospital not far away, my auntie saw them chucking it out, oh, and i got a bbc micro from the old it admin at high school years back, mainly used it to play elite
Garage sales are really the best as many people just want to get rid of them. Another thing you can do is go "dumpster diving" behind large businesses and corporations. Dumpsters are those large trash bins in case you call them something different down under.
You acualy got some stuff from your school hmm...maybe I should ask my princible...what should I say, litteraly what should I ask.
Convince him/her that having one of your old computers would really help to progress your IT skills which will be of great use when job hunting Very true! I managed to blag a computer (minus hdd) from a 'friend' at my last job
I got an old 486 server and a laser printer for free from school. Could have got a few (10) old pcs a couple of weeks ago, but I dont have the space for them . So just go ask, you might be lucky. Offer to recycle your school's/an office's PCs for free when they're finished with them, they might go for it, but only if all the data is erased first.
hmm...I should ask, hello I was wondering if you had eny old computers I could have. I recicle them to try and make them better..., got eny suggestions. Oh and didnt mean to hijack this thread.
