I get a kick out of people who are getting on in their age. My grandmother just called me to wish me a happy birthday... only problem is she's two days early... which I suppose is closer than the two weeks early she called last year... Man is she losing her marbles...
My mother recently had her "50th" and her mother (my grandmother obviously) gave her some "birthday money" which my mother promptly cashed back into my grandma's account.. but about 10 days after the birhday my grandmother gave my mum a cheque saying I don't think I gave you enough money for your birthday, when my mum looked at the cheque it was £2.80
old people gernerally annoy me with their boring conversations etc etc but they can often be a source of good wholesome amusement
My grandmother doesn't know my name. Any time she calls and I answer the phone, she calls me Alan (my cousin's name, although they live 40 miles away and a totally different number/area) and though she catches it, she can never remember my name.
My grandma (one of them) is nearly 91 years old, but she's still completely sane, and lives in her own house. She remembers my birthday every year, and remembers all of her grandchildren's and other relatives' birthdays. That's quite impressive. She also has a lot of interesting stories to tell about "the old days", like from the WW2 etc.
