I've had the MobiBlu mp3 player for several months and I'm more than happy with it. The sound configuration options are fabulous, the device-to-computer interface is dead simple, and it's way more portable than any other player I've had.

I also recommend getting a ball-chain or clip for it. It's not a pocketable size so I either wear it around my neck or loop/clip it to my belt loops.

Been thinking of getting one. I need a small mp3 player to fit in my jacket when I ride my motorcycle. This seems like it would fit the bill. My big question is the max volume comparable to other mp3 or cd players. Sometimes the bike gets a little loud when the engine is revving and the wind is rushing.

I got my girlfriend a pink 1GB Mobiblu player, which she uses every day to wile away the boring daily commute. I also got me a silver one, but so far I haven't really found the time to use it.

As for the review, I honestly cannot see how iTunes integration can be described as A Good Thing, Apple fanboy or not. I always try to stay away from media players and other devices where you need proprietary software to access them, especially if that software has a commercial side to it. That is why this Mobiblu player, and the iRiver range of players appeals to me. You can simply load and unload them using Explorer, just the way I like it! ;)

    Gigabyte gaming adapter

I'm wondering why after being out for nearly 2 months people are still moaning about the cost of the 360 wireless adapter.
I agree that if all you want it for is gaming then the gigabyte one is better, but Microsoft does have a reason for their choice, you can't stream HD video over 802.11g. There's just too much interference to do it reliably so they decided that the adapter needed 802.11a support as well.
When you compare it to a 802.11a/b/g adapter the price is about the same.

Maybe they should have released a 'gaming only' adapter as well but it's cheaper for them to just have a single product.

I bought my g/f a pink 512MB Q-BE, the 3.5mm socket also doubles up as the USB sync Cable and Charger, the buttons on the unit are very small for my fat fingers but my G/F has not trouble using it. it has up to 10hrs charge but if you dont have it a full volume you can get up to 15. also you can set the time the screen stays lit after a button is pressed so that will also extend the battery life.

it comes in 6 colours on their website they dont show the orange??

DSG has the exclusive pre-xmas deal that they were the only shop in this country (UK) to sell them (inc Curry's, PC World, Link)

Does it show i worked for dixons selling these

Forgot to point something out: there are generally speaking 2 versions of the cube-sized MP3 player in existence. There is the original / official DAH-1500i, branded with the mobiBLU logo, which features USB2 and support for playing DRM-protected WMA files, and which is ONLY available in the US. Next to that version, you can find the DAH-1500 (no "i") which has to get by with USB1.1 and lacks any DRM compatibility. This "cut down" version is distributed under different brands, such as TNC or Q-be.

I was so fortunate to have someone in the States UPS me two 1500i's...

Don't quote me on this, but I think I read somewhere that the smaller (256Mb) version of the DAH-1500i 'copies' are only USB 1.1, but the 512Mb and 1Gb variants are actually USB 2.0...

I could be wrong though ;-)

Those Q-be's are impressively small in real life, saw one the other day. If I needed a 1GB player, would be the one I would buy.
I thought Q-be was just the new name for Mobiblu...

The official specs for each model are
DAH-1500 (the model Q-Be is selling appearantly): sold in Europe and Asia and has the following features: Support for MP3 and WMA, FM radio, USB 1.1, and 120mA Li-ion Batter with a rated 15 hours max battery time.

DAH-1500i: sold in the United States and has the following features: Support for MP3 and WMA, DRM (I haven't seen ANY DRM features on the device though), Voice Recording, FM radio, FM Recording, Playlists, SRS WOW Surround Sound, USB 2.0, and 180mA Li-ion Batter with a rated 10 hours max battery time.

DAH-1500s: sold in Canada and has the following features: Support for MP3 and WMA, USB 1.1, and 120mA Li-ion Batter with a rated 15 hours max battery time. No Radio.

But if anyone finds differently (especially the USB speed) than it would be nice to know.

So the US version has way more features. If you set the backlight to the lowest brightness level your battery life will improve no matter which model you have.

And I haven't been able to test the MobiBlu against an iPod but compared to all the mp3 players I've tried before this one it is hands-down the best I've heard in terms of output quality. Especially after you pick the right speaker size in the SRS settings.
