I was burning a CD earlier today and listening to music on my computer. After I was done burning the CD, I stopped my music and tried playing the CD on the computer to make sure it burnt fine. To my surprise, no sound played. I thought it was strange, as it said it was playing but I Didn't hear anything.

At first I thought it might be the CD, so I played a song from my hard drive - no sound. I then thought it might be my speakers, as they were acting up earlier this week. I plugged in headphones, cranked the volume, and heard nothing at all. My system volume isn't muted or anything like that so I have no clue what could be wrong.

Does anybody have any ideas? I have an Asus A7S333 motherboard and I don't think it's a driver issue, as the sound was working before I burnt the CD!

    try reinstalling the drivers.
I've had my Lan/Usb/sound all die randomly at once during a lan. I rebooted to linux and everything was fine. Reinstalling drivers wouldn't fix it, I had to reinstalle windows
It could just be a co-incidence that it died after you tryed to play the cd.
