It's stupidly easy in the US. The day I went to take mine there was some Brit asking about hers who had moved over here who had to get a learners permit first :p I personally lost 3 points (of 100, losing 20 fails) and that was because I totally forgot to do something :hehe:

What have I told you about interfering with minors, mr_roll? :nono:

    Seriously though, well done.

Now you just need to get your dad's volvo, cut the springs, paint the steel wheels black and cruise round like a badass mofo.

11 is half way between a lot and not much.

    • You're allowed 16 or 17 (can't remember which) minor faults
    • Your allowed up to 3 of the same minor faults
    • Your not allowed any major faults (like crashing the car, going over stop lines, running over people etc)

Anything outside of ^^^ is a fail.

I passed first time with 9 :wallbash: minor faults, got a car now :)

EDIT: Forgot to mention, well done!

15 minors of different types = fail
3 minors of hte same type = serious = fail
serious = going on to the pavement, nearly hitting people etc = fail
dangerous = actually hitting people :D = fail

11 is quite a lot imo :worried:
i passed with 6 minors on my first go :D
edit: + i was doing it during rush hour near christmas in london near croydon, loads of traffic and stupid people doing xmas shopping :p

In Norway I think it is the examiner's subjective opinion that counts the most. Before you start driving, you might get a technical question about the car. I was asked "If something goes wrong with our breaks when we drive now, how can you first see it?". I answered that the hand brake lamp would light up, and he said that was OK.

Of course, it is not only the subjective opinion of the examiner that matters. If you, say, fail to stop for pedestrians or traffic you are supposed to stop for, you automatically fail.

When I took my driving test, the guy only wrote "OK" on the whole commentary sheet, and checked the "passed" box :D

I actually failed my first test for NOT going on the pavement! Some lorry caused a blockage in the middle of the road, but I should have kept the traffic flowing by ensuring the pavement was clear and driving round! Other than that, I made no mistakes during the test :wallbash: :wallbash: I still think he was wrong to fail me for that.

I passed despite me hitting the kerb, but the examiner said it wasn't my fault!! The front left wheel passed over the edge of a raised manhole cover and the result of that was that the car jerked to the left and hit the kerb, I thought I'd failed, but didn't!

My friend failed 2nd time a few weeks ago, but was then offered another test for free because the officals said that the examiner was wrong to fail him. He was asked to pull over, then drive off again, he pulled over, as he was leaving to drive off a lorry 20m behind him also pulled out at the same time. He failed because the lorry could've hit him. But surely the car would've accelerated faster than a 40 ton lorry and the lorry had 20m to stop if anything happened.

Only 42% of drivers pass 1st time in the UK.

tbh penski, I'm going to need to drive the car along the motorway, so I can't do that.

But I drove my volvo 740 (ill be buying that off my dad soon) last night on my own, felt strange at 1st and my dad was hesitent at me taking the car out on my own, but tbh, I just had a lazy slow drive some times couldn't be bothered to get to the 30mph speed limit.

    Not true.

I got 4 of the same, for going to slow.
I think its up to the examiner, that one.

It is 3, its on the sheet u get when you pass your theory. Maybe the examiner overlooked it or summat. But if you passed, that doesn't matter anymore!

I got 7 minors on the test I passed.... was my 4th test though :wallbash: :wallbash:

It isnt just if you get 3 of the same minor that you fail, it's if the examiner see's them to be a potentially dangerous habit.

On one of the tests I failed I also had 3 minors in one box, so I asked the examiner about them and he said I wouldnt have failed just for those and explained what I just said above.

Well done on passing your test!
