For those of you outside the UK that's lester-shear not ley-ces-ter-shyre - I've heard some pretty amusing pronunciations of it, along with Worcestershire, which is not were-ces-ter-shyre either
Imagine being in court for this, how embarrising would that be, I would love to be on jury duty on this case
O_O Dude, do you know how much this happens on farms out here in the USA? But that is mostly with sheep.
lol from the bold writting under the headline i thought it was some kind af equestrian/barn yard threesome "sex with a horse and a donkey".
The thing about sheep in the uk at least. Comes from a time when the punishment for stealing sheep was greater than that of buggering them so if you got caught you'd drop you pants and pertending to try to shag sheep thus avoiding a worse sentance.
I have never actually read the name properly before. I have always said lester-shear. Now I see how different written name is.
Just one of the many redundancies still visible within the english language. Like colour and color sound the same as you can't hear the u. Its just spelt properly in English with a u, and without in American
