Cooling Oops.. ;)

I got a new graphics card last week, so whilst taking out the water cooling for the card, it sprung a leak which I didnt notice.. tried to power the PC back up with the new card in, and it didnt boot, no fans came on, nothing except a yellow LED in the bottom left that flashed a few times... Ho hum.

Waiting for it to dry out, given it a full day in the airing cupboard with my house's heating on full blast but to be honest I dont hold out much hope.

At least 939 stuff is dirt cheap these days ;-)

Whatever you do dont use a hair dryer I did and didnt notice it was melting all the coverings

 

ahhh dude! i total sympathis with ya! same thing happened to me! on my new gfx as well! is a kick in the nuts! just go to air lol

I just did that with my brand new phone. Sat in a puddle of water on the counter for a couple of hours. A couple days of airing out in front of a fan got it working again. Best of luck to you.

 

rofl.. i hope u get it workin again.. unfortunately.. when u started on the comp with in in and partially wet, this would have shorted basically everything, the led might have been lucky =O
