I have a stereo VU meter, the old school analogue type with needles, and am trying to hook it up to my stereo. Found this circuit which looks like i'll do the job nicely :thumb: Problem is the opamp, Ive had a look through Rapid but cant see the CA3140, can anyone suggest a suitable alternative. Never played with MOSFET opamps before  If theres a dual type as well thatd be even better, make the circuit a litle neater.

    Thanks

Look under fet opamps, CA3140E, 82-0688. It's a very common one, Maplin & ESR also have it. CA3240E is the dual version, also at Rapid. :thumb:

The TL071 is a pretty common unit to and seems a little higher performance than the one spec'd...not that you need high performance for this circuit though.
