hey i am having trouble installing x11 necessary for open office. when i download it from apple.com and run the .pkg it says that "newer software is already installed". but open office doesnt run because it says that it is missing x11.

when i go to look for x11 on my computer i cant find it anywhere. what should i do?

That is the software development kit for x11, not x11 itself. Don't look in the little dmg menu, look at the disk in the finder for something like x11.pkg. But honestly, I'd go with neooffice (it doesn't need x11, the new alpha's are even starting to look pretty).
